More Than Just a Greeting
To him, success is measured in relationships, built and deepened in heartfelt chats on calls or coffees. And there’s really no better example than the case that forever shaped his outlook on the profession.
It all began with a simple greeting exchanged with an old friend at a condominium security guard post in September 2021. The guard, a soft-spoken man with warm eyes and quiet struggles, opened up to Didi about his dream of owning a flat in Singapore. A dream that had been crushed time and again.

“For 15 years, he and his wife had been trying to buy their first resale HDB,” Didi shares. “Several agents had told him his budget was infeasible, and after many rounds of house-hunting, he and his wife had all but given up on their dream.”

More Than a Home
Other agents didn’t take the time or effort to understand what the couple really wanted—an affordable home, near a community they were comfortable with, and a home that would allow their children to grow up surrounded by love and stability.
Keys to a New Life
"On the day I handed him the keys, he hugged me with tears in his eyes," Didi recalls. “His whole family was there. It was so surreal to see the firm little man I knew, melt into the arms of his family. Moments like that remind me why I chose this profession. It’s not just about closing deals, it’s about changing lives.”


A Dream Fulfilled, A Bond Lasting
To this day, the family keeps in touch, referring Didi to colleagues and friends. “Another family’s dream achieved,” he says humbly.

I don’t want to be seen as a realtor
Stories like these have reinforced Didi’s belief that real estate is about far more than commissions. “Success isn’t just about closing deals. It’s about building genuine relationships and earning trust,” he reflects. “The power of persistence, humility, and empathy are lessons I carry with me every day.” That’s what sets Didi apart. He cares about his clients like they’re family. “I don’t want to be seen as a realtor; I want to be seen as a partner.”

But while Didi is a warm and inviting character, he is also an incredibly adaptable agent. “When I first started, the real estate industry wasn’t the same as it is nowadays. Digital marketing, virtual tours, and data analytics have become essential tools, and to stay ahead, I embraced these innovations early, upgrading my skills and adapting to trends as they come,” he explains.

No matter how much the industry changes, Didi emphasizes that the core of his work will never change. “Listening, empathizing, and understanding my clients’ needs will always be the most important part of what I do,” he says.
Help First, Success Follows
His biggest piece of advice to upcoming salespersons is no different: “Don’t focus on selling. Focus on helping. When you prioritize helping other people achieve their goals, success naturally follows.” This keeps Didi inspired. There are stories behind every client, every property, and every milestone. As long as there are stories to tell and dreams to realize, Didi will continue to leave a mark—not just as a realtor, but as a trusted partner in his clients’ journeys.
